The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra Foundation
The SCVYO Foundation is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit educational benefit corporation, exists to raise the funds needed to finance the operating costs of the orchestra. Operating costs include stipends for the Music Directors of the Orchestra and the salaries for two to three teaching assistants each semester. Funds are also expended for music rental and purchase, printing, instrument purchase and repair, and purchase of music stands, folders and other ancillary equipment. The foundation also provides scholarships for orchestra participation and private lessons for deserving students. We also, at times, fund facilities fees for concerts. The orchestra is made up of many instruments. We have a program to provide loan instruments at no charge to students who are willing to master a second instrument to meet the needs of the orchestras. You are invited to contribute to the future of music by making a tax deductible donation, by advertising in our printed concert programs and by supporting the Foundation’s volunteer program.
The Board of Directors
With careful guardianship, the Board of Directors of the SCVYO Foundation has ensured the Orchestra has operating funds for the current year. However, should we not pursue fundraising, the program as it exists today would end within a twelve-month period. The Board and other volunteers are constantly on the move, seeking grant opportunities, planning, organizing and implementing fund raising activities. Our two major fundraisers are the Poinsettia Campaign in winter, and the Santa Clarita Wine Classic in the spring. We need your help in these activities and invite you to attend any board meeting or to offer your services.
